Bushing Replacement
- Remove bolts and washers to control arm shaft. Use an arbor press and Suspension Bushing Set 09726-27011 to remove bushings.
- Inspect all components for wear, cracks or distortion. Use arbor press and suspension bushing set to press bushings into upper control arm. Install bushing bolts and washers finger-tight. install washers and nuts on shaft and position shaft so frame installation surface is at a right angle to arm. See Fig 1.NOTE: Do not apply grease or oil to the bushing.
- Tighten rear shaft nuts to 71 ft. lbs. (96 N.m), then tighten front shaft nuts to 58 ft. lbs. (78 N.m). Secure with new cotter pins. Install torque arm. Tighten bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (47 N.m).
