Valve Springs: Inspection

  1. With valve spring removed, check length under specified load in a spring tester. Check free length. If not within specifications, replace valve spring.
  2. Check valve spring squareness with a steel square. Replace spring if out-of-square more than specified limit. See VALVE SPRING SPECIFICATIONS .
