Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove right seat. Remove engine service cover. Drain coolant and disconnect all coolant hoses. Drain oil pan. Remove power steering pump (if equipped).
- Remove exhaust pipe and bracket. Disconnect accelerator cable with bracket from throttle body. Remove air cleaner and hoses.
- Remove electrical connectors from coolant temperature sensor, start injector time switch, cold start injector, air valve, throttle position sensor, and oxygen sensor. Disconnect A/C coolant temperature switch (if equipped). See Figure.
- Disconnect hoses from radiator inlet, radiator breather, reserve tank, heater outlet, PCV valve, and coolant by-pass. See Figure. Remove brake booster vacuum hose and charcoal canister hose.
- Label and disconnect all emission control hoses. Remove throttle body. Remove 2 nuts attaching air intake chamber to EGR valve. Remove union nut attaching exhaust manifold to EGR valve and remove EGR valve.
- Disconnect start injector pipe and pressure regulator hose. Remove air intake chamber brackets. Remove air intake chamber with air valve. Remove wire clamp bolt at injector tube.
- Disconnect injector wire connections from injectors. Remove exhaust manifold bracket. Remove heater pipe bracket. Remove fuel inlet union bolt from fuel filter. Remove fuel outlet hose. Remove intake and exhaust manifolds.
