Steering Knuckle: Installation

  1. Install inside and outside bushings, Use Bushing Replacer Set (09608-35014, 09608-06020 and 09608-06090).
    NOTE: When installing bushing in spindle, ensure that flat portion of bushing is aligned with spindle groove.
  2. Apply Molybdenum Disulphide Lithium (MDL) base grease to steering knuckle bushings. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Install new cotter pin. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification.
  3. Install new cotter pin. If steering knuckle bushings are replaced, recheck drive axle thrust clearance. Clearance can be altered by adding or removing spacers. Spacers are available in 2 sizes; .0709" (1.80 mm) and .0886" (2.25 mm).
