Ball Joints: Removal

  1. Remove disc brake caliper without disconnecting brake line. Secure disc brake caliper out of way. Remove cotter pin and castle nut from ball joint. Using Ball Joint Puller (09628-62011), remove ball joint from steering knuckle. Remove 4 nuts holding ball joint to upper control arm and remove ball joint.
  2. Use a jack to support lower control arm.
