Removal & Installation: Valves

  1. Check valve head margin thickness. If head is worn to .02" (.5 mm) margin thickness for intake or .04" (1.0 mm) for exhaust, replace valve. Check surface of valve stem tip for excessive wear.
  2. Standard valve length is 4.208" (106.88 mm) for intake and 4.204" (106.78 mm) for exhaust. Valve stem end surface grinding limit is .02" (.5 mm). If valve stem tip is worn, resurface with grinder or replace valve.
