Piston & Rod Assembly: Removal

  1. With cylinder head and oil pan removed, remove connecting rod nuts. Remove rod cap with bearing half. Remove any ridge before pushing piston out.
  2. Cover rod bolts with short pieces of rubber hose to protect crankshaft journals from damage. Push piston/rod assembly, with bearing half, out through top of block.
