Piston & Rod Assembly: Inspection

  1. Using rod aligner, check connecting rod for bend or torsion. Bend and torsion limit is .002" (.05 mm), in 3.94" (100 mm) of length.
  2. Install rod and bearings on crankpin. Measure side thrust clearance. Maximum play at big end is .012" (.30 mm). Replace rod if not to specification.
