Pickup & 4Runner

  1. Check that voltage changes between terminal No. 2 and ground as float is moved from full to empty positions. With the ignition on, measure voltage at terminal No. 2 of sending unit connector.
    PICKUP & 4RUNNER FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT OUTPUT VOLTAGES

    Fuel Level Voltage
    Full 4.5-4.7
    1/2 Tank 3.1-3.3
    1/4 Tank 2.3-2.5
    Empty .9-1.1
  2. On Pickup and 4Runner only, turn ignition off. Unplug connector at sending unit.
  3. Measure sending unit resistances at full and empty positions. See PICKUP & 4RUNNER FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT RESISTANCES  table.
