Camry, Pickup & 4Runner

  1. Bring engine to normal operating temperature. Unplug connector from temperature sending unit.
  2. On Camry, sending unit is on left side of engine with a Yellow/Black wire. Pickup and 4Runner wire color is Yellow/Green.
  3. Turn ignition on, lowest segment should light up. Ground connector of sending unit. Uppermost segment should flash.
  4. Measure resistance between end terminal on sending unit and engine block. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCES . Replace sending unit if defective.
