Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Using floor jack, raise axle housing. Remove nut and bolt holding shock absorber to rear axle housing. If replacing shock absorber, remove nuts, collars and cushion from shock absorber body mount.
- Remove stabilizer bar bushing brackets from axle housing. Disconnect lateral control rod from axle housing and body. Begin to lower axle housing. Lower axle housing using care not to stretch brake line or parking brake cable. Remove coil spring.
- Remove upper and lower insulators. To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT tighten lateral control rod fasteners. Lower vehicle to ground. Bounce vehicle to stabilize suspension. Tighten lateral control rod fasteners.
