Trouble Shooting: Precautions

  1. When testing resistances and voltages, use a high-impedance type tester. Tester must have 10,000 ohms impedance or more. Testing is not possible with a standard (analog) meter.
  2. Do not make checks with battery voltage applied directly to components. To avoid damage from static electricity, do not touch circuit components. Never reverse battery connections.
  3. Never disconnect battery while engine is running. Always disconnect battery terminals before pulling apart connectors or terminals.
