Strut Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Install a bolt and 2 nuts to lower portion of strut bracket to prevent strut shell from being crushed when clamped in vise. Clamp strut in vise and use Compressor (09727-22032) to compress coil spring.
  2. Remove support cover. Clamp octagon shaped head of suspension support in vise. Remove piston rod nut. Remove suspension support, coil spring, insulator and rubber bumper.
