Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Inspection
- Camshaft journal oil clearance may be checked using Plastigage method. If clearance exceeds specification, replace cylinder head and/or camshaft. Maximum clearance is .004" (.10 mm).
- Maximum camshaft runout at center journal is .008" (.20 mm). Replace camshaft if runout is beyond limit. Replace camshaft if intake lobe height is less than 1.678-1.689" (42.62-42.90 mm), or exhaust lobe height is less than 1.681-1.684" (42.70-42.77 mm).
