Master Cylinder: Disassembly

  1. Remove reservoir, hose and switch. Mount cylinder in soft-jawed vise. Remove dust boot and check valves. Push pistons into cylinder bore and remove stop bolt.
  2. Remove snap ring and withdraw piston assemblies. Remove unions, outlet plugs and other external components. Disassemble piston assemblies by removing springs, retainers and cups. See Fig 1.
