Torsion Bar: Notes
Removal
Remove boots and place match marks on torsion bar spring, anchor arm and torque arm. Loosen adjusting nut. Remove anchor arm and torsion bar spring.
NOTE:
Measure distance of protruding bolt end. Use this measurement for reference when adjusting vehicle height.
Installation (Used Torsion Bar Spring)
NOTE:
On rear end of torsion bar springs there are left and right indication marks. Ensure that they are not interchanged when installing.
Apply light coat of MDL base grease to spline of torsion bar spring. Align match marks and install torsion bar spring to torque arm. Align match marks and install anchor arm to torsion bar spring. Tighten adjusting nut so that bolt protrusion is equal to original measurement. Tighten lock nut to 61 ft. lbs. (83 N.m) and assemble boots.
