Clutch Switch Circuit (M/T Only) (Camry, Cressida, Mr2, Non-Turbo Pickup, 4Runner & Tercel)

  1. Check for continuity between harness connector terminal No. 2 (terminal No. 3 on Camry and Tercel) and good body ground. If continuity is not present, check for open circuit in wire between terminal and body ground. Also check body ground circuit.
  2. If continuity is present, check operation of clutch switch. Replace clutch switch if necessary. If clutch switch operates properly, unplug electrical connector from cruise control computer. Check for continuity between harness connector terminal No. 11 and good body ground with clutch pedal depressed.
  3. If continuity is not present, check for open circuit in wire between terminal No. 11 of computer and terminal No. 3 (terminal No. 2 on Camry, MR2 and Tercel) of clutch switch. If continuity is present, repeat step 2) with clutch pedal released.
  4. If continuity is present, check for short circuit in wire between terminal No. 11 of computer and terminal No. 3 (terminal No. 2 on Camry, MR2 and Tercel) of clutch switch. If continuity is not present, replace cruise control computer.
