Valve Springs: Installation

  1. Before installing components, clean parts to be assembled. Apply oil to sliding and rotating surfaces. Install valve spring seats and new oil seals.
  2. Install springs and retainers on valves. Using spring compressor, compress springs and install keepers. Tap stem lightly with plastic hammer to ensure keepers are seated properly.
