Intake & Exhaust Manifolds: Inspection

  1. Inspect intake and exhaust manifold gasket surfaces for nicks or damage. Using straightedge and feeler gauge, check manifolds for warpage.
  2. For 4A-C and 4A-LC exhaust manifold and 3A-C intake and exhaust manifolds, warpage limit is .012" (.30 mm). For 4A-C and 4A-LC intake manifold, warpage limit is .008" (.20 mm). If warpage is beyond limits, resurface or replace manifolds as necessary.
