Removal (Van)
- With wheel and brake drum removed, remove 4 backing plate mounting nuts. Using Axle Shaft Puller (09520-00031), remove axle shaft. Maximum shaft runout is .059" (1.5 mm) for Cressida and .079" (2 mm) for all others.
- Maximum flange runout for Cressida is .004" (.1 mm), for all others is .008" (.2 mm). Using grinder, grind down inner bearing retainer of axle shaft and cut off with chisel and hammer.
- Using Rear Axle Shaft Bearing Remover (09527-20011) for Cressida or (09527-21011) for all others, press bearing from axle shaft. Use Oil Seal Puller (09308-00010) to remove oil seal from housing. Clean all parts.
