Valve Clearance Adjustment

NOTE: Valves should be adjusted with engine at normal operating temperature but not running. Cold specifications are provided for initial settings after assembly.
  1. With engine at normal operating temperature, stop engine and remove valve cover. Bring No. 1 piston to TDC of compression stroke. Ensure rockers on No. 1 are loose and No. 4 are tight.
  2. If not, rotate crankshaft 1 revolution. Realign cutout on damper pulley with 0° timing mark on timing belt cover. Adjust No. 1 & 2 intake valves and No. 1 & 3 exhaust valves.
  3. Rotate crankshaft one full turn (360°) clockwise to realign timing mark on damper pulley with "O" mark on timing cover. Adjust No. 3 & 4 intake valves and No. 2 & 4 exhaust valves.
