Oil Pump: Inspection

  1. Check gears for wear or damage. Install new oil seal using seal installer tool (09517-30011 for 3A-C and 09517-30010 for 4A-C). DO NOT  install seal slantwise.
  2. Measure clearances between drive gear and driven gear, side clearance, and gear-to-body clearance. If beyond limits, replace necessary parts. Check relief valve for wear or damage. See Fig 1.

NOTE: Replace oil seal and any gear that shows excessive wear, damage or is beyond clearance limits.
