Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system and remove manifolds as previously described. Ensure No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on compression stroke. Remove spark plug wires, by pulling on rubber boots.
  2. Remove rocker arm cover and loosen cylinder head bolts in 3 steps in reverse of tightening sequence. See Figure. Remove rocker arm assembly and take out push rods, keeping them in order for installation. Remove cylinder head.
