Piston & Rod Assembly: Removal

Before removing piston and rod assembly, check top of cylinder bore for ridge or carbon deposit. Remove ridge or carbon deposit with a suitable ridge reamer. Remove connecting rod caps and bearings. Mark or identify rod cap to ensure that it is installed on original connecting rod. Push piston and rod assembly up and out of cylinder bore.
