Piston & Rod Assembly: Installation
Apply oil to piston and piston rings. Position piston ring gaps as shown in illustration. Using a suitable ring compressor, compress piston rings and install piston and rod assembly in bore with notch in top of piston facing front of engine. Install rod caps on corresponding connecting rod, with bearings installed and lubricated.
