Closure Panels - Assembly - Front Door - Left - Remove And Replace: Install

CAUTION: If using this procedure to install an unpainted part, make sure to apply seam sealer to all seams prior to installing and painting the part. Refer to the Collision Repair service information for more information.
  1. Manually install the upper bolts (x2) that attach the hinges to the LH front door for easy installation.

  2. With assistance, install the LH front door assembly onto the vehicle.
    NOTE: Align the bolts to their installation position.

  3. Hand-tighten the bolts (x4) that attach the hinges to the LH front door.
    NOTE: Align the hinge with the previously applied tape on the door.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm 12 pt combination wrench

  4. Use IPA wipes to clean the area where the secondary seal will be installed, and allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry.
  5. Peel back the adhesive backing at the ends of the seal, and position the seal onto the door.
    NOTE: Ensure the drain holes of the seal are at the bottom of the door. Ensure both edges are under the cut outs for the inner belt and the glass run seal. Ensure the open edge of the seal is facing the inside of the door.

  6. Position the LH front door harness into the door assembly.

  7. Install the clips (x9) that secure the LH front door electrical harness.

  8. Feed the harness through the door assembly into the cabin, and then install the grommet to the body.
    NOTE: Verify the seal if fully seated around the black clip prior to install.

  9. Connect the J7 LH front door connector to the LH body controller.
    NOTE: Fully seat the connector and then engage the lock.

  10. Install the LH front outer door handle. See FRONT AND REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES - FRONT, DOOR HANDLE OUTER, PASSIVE, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  11. Install the LH front door latch. See FRONT DOOR LATCH AND STRIKER - DOOR LATCH, FRONT LH, BASE - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  12. Install the LH front door check strap. See FRONT DOOR HINGES AND FITTINGS - FRONT CHECK STRAP SEAL - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  13. Install the LH front door window regulator. See FRONT AND REAR DOOR GLASS REGULATOR - WINDOW REGULATOR FRONT DOOR LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  14. Install the LH front door closeout panel. See FRONT DOOR HINGES AND FITTINGS - FRONT CLOSEOUT PANEL ASSEMBLY, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  15. Install the LH front door outer belt assembly. See FRONT DOOR SEALS - FRONT DOOR OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - BLACK - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  16. Install the LH front door inner belt seal. See BODY SIDE SEALS - INNER BELT SEAL, FRONT DOOR, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  17. Install the LH front exterior mirror assembly. See EXTERIOR MIRRORS - EXTERIOR MIRROR, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  18. Carefully place the LH front door glass to original position, and hand-tighten new patch bolts (x2) (1101805-00-B).
    NOTE: Make sure the isolator clamps are not bottomed out on the regulator. Perform adjustment if needed.

  19. Connect the LV battery power. See LV BATTERY - LI-LON - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
  20. Close the LH front door and check the gap and flushness.
    NOTE: If the shouldered/tapered bolts are not allowing for successful adjustment, replace the selected shouldered/tapered bolts with 1063260-00-C. Adjust the LH front door, if necessary. Refer to CVIS for current specifications.
  21. Torque the bolts (x4) that attach the hinges to the LH front door.

    27 N.m (19.9 lbs-ft) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 3/8 in Crowfoot Open End Set - 1079485-00-A

  22. Install the LH door glass. See FRONT AND REAR DOOR GLASS - GLASS, FRONT DOOR LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  23. Install the LH front door puddle light. See INTERIOR TRIM - DOOR TRIM - FRONT DOOR TRIM PAD - PUDDLE LAMP - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  24. Install the LH front door trim panel. See INTERIOR TRIM - DOOR TRIM - FRONT DOOR TRIM PAD - DOOR TRIM ASSEMBLY - LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  25. Install the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See A - B - C POST INTERIOR TRIM - A - PILLAR LOWER ASSEMBLY, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  26. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See DASH PANEL - END CAP, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  27. Install the driver footwell cover. See DASH PANEL - DRIVER FOOTWELL COVER ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  28. Install the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  29. Calibrate the window. See WINDOW REGULATOR (RECALIBRATE) - MODULE RESET/REFLASHED .
  30. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
