Rear Door Hinges And Fittings - Rear Door Check Strap - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH rear door puddle light. See INTERIOR TRIM - DOOR TRIM - REAR DOOR TRIM PAD - PUDDLE LAMP - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See INTERIOR TRIM - DOOR TRIM - REAR DOOR TRIM PAD - DOOR TRIM ASSEMBLY - LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH rear door glass. See FRONT AND REAR DOOR GLASS - GLASS, REAR DOOR LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Disconnect LV power. See LV BATTERY - LI-ION - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Remove the LH rear window regulator assembly. See FRONT AND REAR DOOR GLASS REGULATOR - WINDOW REGULATOR MODULE REAR DOOR LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear door check strap to the body.NOTE: Unbolting the door check allows the door to swing freely beyond opening limits.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
- 4 in extension
- Torx T40 socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the LH rear door check strap to the LH rear door.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Reach inside the door opening and remove the check strap from the door.
