Rear Door Hinges And Fittings - Hinge Rear Lower Left - Remove And Replace: Install

  1. Align the new lower hinge with the applied tape on the body, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the lower door hinge to body hand tight.

  2. Align the new lower hinge with the applied tape on the LH rear door, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the lower hinge to the LH rear door hand tight.

  3. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door lower hinge to the body.

    27 N.m (19.9 lbs-ft) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 13 mm socket
  4. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door lower hinge to the door.

    27 N.m (19.9 lbs-ft) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 6 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Remove the jack that supports the LH rear door.
  6. Close the LH rear door and check for gap and flushness. Adjust as necessary.
    NOTE: Refer to CVIS for current gap/flush specifications.

  7. Remove the tape from the LH body side and the LH rear door.
  8. Clean the LH rear door side upper hinge bolts with IPA wipes.
    NOTE: Allow 1 minute for the IPA to dry.
  9. Apply touch up paint on the LH rear door hinge bolts as needed.
    NOTE: Shake the touch up paint before applying. Allow the first coat to dry for 20 minutes before applying and second coat.
  10. Raise all four windows and close all four doors.
