Closure Panels - Assembly - Front Door - Left - Remove And Install: Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV BATTERY - LI-LON - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Remove the driver footwell cover. See DASH PANEL - DRIVER FOOTWELL COVER ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See DASH PANEL - END CAP, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the LH lower A-pillar assembly. See A - B - C POST INTERIOR TRIM - A - PILLAR LOWER ASSEMBLY, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Disconnect the J7 LH front door connector from the LH body controller.NOTE: Release the lock then remove. Pay attention to the color and the location of the connector.
- Use a plastic trim tool to release the grommet, then remove the LH front door harness from the A-pillar area.NOTE: Push the harness through the bulkhead from the A-pillar area.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front door check strap to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm Flex Head Ratcheting Combination Wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- 13 mm socket
- Remove the lower bolts (x2) that attach the hinges to the LH front door, and then loosen the upper bolts (x2) that attaches the hinges to the door.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12 pt combination wrench
NOTE: Lower Bolts Securing the HingesNOTE: Upper Bolts Securing the Hinges - With assistance, lift the LH front door up and remove it from the vehicle.
