Hood Latch And Release - Hood Latch Double Pull Single Actuator - Remove And Replace: Remove
NOTE:
If the hood latch does not open electronically, use the manual front trunk tool specified below to open the hood.

- Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the cabin intake duct. See CABIN HVAC - HVAC, FRESH AIR GUTTER, ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE
- Remove the access panel. See FRONT BUMPER FASCIA - ASSEMBLY, ACCESS PANEL - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See EXTERIOR FITTINGS - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM - FRONT LUGGAGE STORAGE COMPARTMENT - FRUNK ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Release the hood latch actuator cable from the hood latch.NOTE: Release the clip before removing the actuator cable from the latch arm.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the hood latch actuator.NOTE: DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
- Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the hood latch actuator to the front end carrier, and then remove the actuator from the vehicle.NOTE: Mark the latch actuator location on the front end carrier.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- 2 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench
