Hood Hinges And Fittings - Hood Strut Bracket RH - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See RAISE VEHICLE - 2 STANDS .
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD TRIM - REAR APRON ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  3. Disconnect the LV battery. See LV BATTERY - LI-ION - DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
  4. Remove the cabin intake duct. See CABIN HVAC - HVAC, FRESH AIR GUTTER, ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  5. Remove the access panel. See FRONT BUMPER FASCIA - ASSEMBLY, ACCESS PANEL - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit. See EXTERIOR FITTINGS - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM - FRONT LUGGAGE STORAGE COMPARTMENT - FRUNK ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  7. Remove the LH front wheel. See WHEEL ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND INSTALL .
  8. Remove the pyrotechnic actuator. See SAFETY AND RESTRAINT - SENSORS - IMPACT AND ACCELERATION SENSORS - AH PYROTECHNIC ACTUATOR, LH - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  9. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH active hood strut bracket to the body, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 1/4 in hex to 1/4 in square 6 in adapter
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
