Forward Facing Cameras - Assembly - Remove And Replace: Install

Clean the inner windshield camera viewing area with a clean microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. Let the windshield fully dry before continuing.
CAUTION: Verify that the windshield has no stains or leftover residue. Otherwise, Autopilot features may be hindered.
Install the forward facing camera to the windshield bracket, and then connect the electrical harness to the forward facing camera connectors.

Install the mount plate to the forward facing camera and the windshield bracket, and then install new screws (x4) that attach the mount plate to the camera and bracket.
1 N.m (.7 lbs-ft)

Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T10 bit
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Install the rear view mirror glare shield. See REARVIEW MIRROR - REAR VIEW MIRROR, GLARE SHIELD - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
Install the upper camera cover. See REARVIEW MIRROR - REAR VIEW MIRROR, CAM COVER UPPER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
NOTE: No need to install the interior camera to the upper camera cover.
Reset the Driver Assistance System (DAS).
1. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See GATEWAY UNLOCK .
2. On the touchscreen Service Mode menu, touch Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS .
3. On the touchscreen Cameras diagram, confirm that the Reset DAS button is highlighted green and that all DAS components display a green status light.
  NOTE: Investigate and rectify any DAS components that display a red status light.
Run the camera connection test to update the new camera's firmware.
NOTE: DAS Cameras are not CAN modules and cannot be updated via firmware reinstall or "Part Replacement Deploy".
1. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See TOOLBOX 3 - CONNECT AND DISCONNECT .
2. Click on the Actions tab, search for "calibration mode", and then Run the DAS Enter Calibration Mode routine.
3. Click on the Actions tab, search for "camera connection test", and then Run the routine that corresponds with the camera that was replaced (e.g. Left B-Pillar Camera Connection Test or Front Camera Connection Test).
  NOTE: The forward facing bi-camera assembly consists of two individual cameras that must be updated separately: Front Camera Connection Test and Fisheye Camera Connection Test. Make sure to update firmware on the cameras that were replaced.
  
  NOTE: If 2 versions of the same routine are displayed, Run the routine that contains "-SCRIPT" in the "Path" field.
4. In the Camera Connection Test prompt, change the "Timeout" to "100", and then Run the routine.
  NOTE: This routine will update the camera's firmware and then confirm that the camera is connected.
Perform the forward facing camera pitch verification. See CAMERA - FORWARD FACING - PITCH VERIFICATION .
Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See TOOLBOX 3 - CONNECT AND DISCONNECT .
Install the rear view mirror. See REARVIEW MIRROR - REAR VIEW MIRROR, ASSEMBLY - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
Install the lower camera cover. See REARVIEW MIRROR - REAR VIEW MIRROR, CAM LOWER COVER - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
Disable Service Mode. See SERVICE MODE .
Inform the customer that the vehicle needs to be driven by the customer to complete the calibration procedure.
NOTE: Self-calibration can take up to 100 miles (160 km) of manual driving, depending upon the road type and condition. Until self-calibration is complete, the message "Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable: Manual Driving Required While Camera Is Calibrating" is displayed if an attempt is made to engage an Autopilot feature.
