Headliner (Heat Pump) - Remove and Install: Remove

  1. Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
  2. Move the front seats fully forward.
  3. Release the clips (x4) and tethers (x2) that attach the RH side rail trim to the vehicle, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

    Tip: Release the upper corner of the trim first and work downward.

    NOTE: Remove the tethers by twisting and pulling away from the housing.
    CAUTION: DO NOT remove the tethers from the body side. The tethers must be replaced if removed from the body side.

  4. Push to open the RH rear coat hook.
  5. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pry open the RH rear coat hook screw cover.

  6. Remove the screw that attaches the RH rear coat hook to the body.

    2.5 N.m (1.8 ft-lbs) 

    NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

  7. Release the clips that attach the RH upper B-pillar trim to the vehicle, and then move the upper B-pillar trim aside.
    NOTE: It is not necessary to completely remove the upper B-pillar trim from the vehicle; only remove the trim with the seat belt still going though the upper B-pillar trim and set it aside.
  8. Repeat step  3 through step  7 for the LH side of the vehicle.
  9. Move the LH front seat fully rearward, and then move the seat back to the down position.
  10. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See END CAP - INSTRUMENT PANEL - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  11. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See TRIM - A-PILLAR - MIDDLE - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  12. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See TRIM - A-PILLAR - LOWER - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  13. Remove the LH upper A-pillar trim. See TRIM - A-PILLAR - UPPER - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  14. Remove the driver sun visor. See SUN VISOR - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  15. Remove the lower quad camera cover. See QUAD CAMERA COVER - LOWER (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  16. Remove the rear view mirror. See MIRROR - REAR VIEW (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  17. Repeat step  9 through step  14 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  18. Release the clips that attach the headliner electrical harness to the LH A-pillar area.

  19. Disconnect the headliner electrical harness.

  20. Release the clips (x10) that attach the headliner to the body.

  21. With an assistant, remove the headliner from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Remove the headliner through the front passenger door.
