Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH - 5-Seat | Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the LH lower c-pillar trim. See TRIM - C-PILLAR - LOWER - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  2. Release the clips that attach the main carpet to the lower seat cushion frames.

  3. Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the LH 2nd row seat back frame to the vehicle.

    Torque 37 N.m 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 11 mm socket
    • 6 in extension
    • 3/8 in std flex head ratchet
    • 3/8 in flex head torque wrench (installation only)

    Tip: The two frontmost bolts are behind the main carpet.

  4. Remove the clip that attaches the center buckle connector to the LH lower seat cushion frame.

  5. Remove the center buckle connector from the LH seat frame harness.

  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the center buckle to the LH lower seat cushion frame, and then remove the center buckle from the assembly.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T50 socket

  7. Disconnect the LH 2nd row buckle electrical connector.

  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH 2nd row buckle to the seat frame.

    Torque 40 N.m 

    NOTE: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T45 socket
  9. Carefully fold down the LH 2nd row seat back.
    CAUTION: Place a protective covering on the seat back upholstery and take care not to damage the upholstery during removal of the seat back.
    CAUTION: Do not place any additional weight on the seatback. Doing so may damage the seat frame alignment tabs, which can cause unevenness between the 60 and 40 seatbacks.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the connector at the LH lower seat frame.

  11. With assistance, carefully remove the LH 2nd row seat back assembly from the vehicle.
    CAUTION: Place the seat back assembly in an area where it will not be tipped over or otherwise damaged.

  12. Remove the LH outer 2nd row headrest. See Headrest - 2nd Row - Outer - LH (Remove And Replace) 
  13. Remove the LH 2nd row headrest adjustment guide. See Adjustment Guide - Headrest - 2nd Row (Remove And Replace) 
  14. Remove the LH 2nd row headrest guide lock. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 2nd Row (Remove And Replace) 
  15. Remove the LH 2nd row escutcheon. See Escutcheon - 2nd Row - LH (Remove And Replace) 
  16. Remove the LH 2nd row seat back shoulder switch. See SHOULDER SWITCH - SEAT BACK - 2ND ROW - LH (Remove And Replace) 
  17. Remove the LH 2nd row seat back panel. See BACK PANEL - 2ND ROW SEAT - LH (Remove And Replace) 
  18. Remove and discard the lower anchor bolt that attaches the seat belt to the lower seat frame.

    Torque 40 N.m 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 6 in extension

  19. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH outside cover to the LH 2nd row seat back, and then separate the cover from the seat back.

  20. Remove the clips that attach the LH 2nd row seat back cushion to the seat rail.

  21. Disconnect the 2nd row seat back heater electrical connector, and then release the clip that attaches the connector to the seat back.

  22. Separate the LH 2nd row seat back cushion from the seat rail.
    NOTE: Pull up to unhook the seat from the railing.

  23. Feed the center seat belt through the LH 2nd row seat back.
  24. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the seat belt retractor assembly to the seat frame, and then remove it from the seat back.

    Torque 45 N.m 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm deep socket
    • 6 in extension
