Touchscreen (HW3) - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Verify that the vehicle firmware version is 2023.12.100 or later. If not, update the vehicle firmware. See FIRMWARE UPDATE .
- Open the RH front door and lower the front windows.
- Move the front passenger seat rearward.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
- Remove the instrument panel service panel. See SERVICE PANEL - INSTRUMENT PANEL (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the cabin temperature sensor from the service panel assembly.
- Remove the touchscreen bracket bolts (x2).
7 N.m (5.2 ft-lbs)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) for the touchscreen tilt motors, if equipped.
- Release the tabs (x3) that attach the touchscreen shroud to the touchscreen assembly, and then remove the shroud from the assembly.NOTE: Release the bottom tabs first, and then pull the shroud upward to release the top tab.NOTE: Slide the assembly outwards until shroud fully clears the IP and support.
- Disconnect the touchscreen coax and power electrical connectors, and then release the clip that attaches the harness to the assembly.NOTE: Slide the assembly rearward and away from the IP bracket and support during connector release.
- Slide the touchscreen assembly rearward to remove it from the instrument panel, and then place the assembly on a soft clean surface.
- Remove the bolt that attaches touchscreen housing ground strap to the touchscreen display mechanism.
4 N.m (2.9 ft-lbs)
NOTE: Inspect the bolt and replace if damaged.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket
- Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the touchscreen display mechanism to the touchscreen display housing.
10 N.m (7.4 ft-lbs)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Lift and tilt the touchscreen display mechanism off the touchscreen display housing.
