Applique - B-Pillar - LH - Remove And Replace: Install
- For newer vehicles with HW4 only -
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the camera to the B-pillar applique.NOTE: Wiggle the camera O-ring through the B-pillar applique, and then fasten the bolts.
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- TP8 - Mini ratchet bit set (1450424-00-A)
- Connect the LH B-Pillar camera electrical connectors (x2), and then secure the locking tabs.
Tip: Hold the applique away from body to gain better access to the camera connectors.

- Secure the applique seal into the LH B-pillar applique.NOTE: Use P-80 emulsifier to assist with seal installation.
- Position the LH B-pillar applique onto the vehicle, and then secure the clip that attaches the applique to the vehicle.NOTE: Be sure to place the top of applique in position behind the upper seal. Insert the top tab first, and then push up and secure the lower clip.
- Pull back the lower seal on the LH B-pillar applique, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the applique to the vehicle.
3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket
- Secure the retaining tabs (x3) on the lower portion of the LH B-Pillar applique seal.
- Reset the Driver Assistance System (DAS).
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock .
- On the touchscreen Service Mode menu, touch Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS.
- On the touchscreen Cameras diagram, confirm that the Reset DAS button is highlighted green and that all DAS components display a green status light.
NOTE: Investigate and rectify any DAS components that display a red status light. - HW4 cameras only:
Run the camera connection test to update the new camera's firmware.NOTE: DAS Cameras are not CAN modules and cannot be updated via firmware reinstall or "Part Replacement Deploy".
- Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See.
- Click on the Actions tab, search for "calibration mode", and then Run the DAS Enter Calibration Mode routine.
- Click on the Actions
tab, search for "camera connection test", and then Run
the routine that corresponds with the camera that was replaced (e.g., Left B-Pillar Camera Connection Test
or Front Camera Connection Test
).NOTE: The forward facing bi-camera assembly consists of two individual cameras that must be updated separately: Front Camera Connection Test and Fisheye Camera Connection Test . Make sure to update firmware on the cameras that were replaced.NOTE: If 2 versions of the same routine are displayed, Run the routine that contains "-SCRIPT" in the "Path" field.
- In the Camera Connection Test prompt, change the "Timeout" to "100", and then Run
the routine.NOTE: This routine will update the camera's firmware and then confirm that the camera is connected.
- Inspect the upper LH B-pillar applique seal to make sure it is fully seated and adjust as necessary.
- Secure the top triangle portion of the LH B-Pillar applique seal into position against the body.
- Close the LH rear door.
- Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable). .
- For vehicles with HW3 only
- Perform the following substeps:
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).Toolbox 3 - (Connect And Disconnect) .
- In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "Service-Redeploy".
- Click SERVICE CAN REDEPLOY
, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.NOTE: Click the "X " at top right of the window to close once complete. The routine will state pass, but the update will continue to run in the background. The UI will show update progress.
- Re-establish connection to Toolbox 3.
- Click the Dashboards tab, and then search for "Service Tools".
- Click the DAS Image Capture button.
- Click the Clear Calibration Pillars
button.NOTE: Confirm successfully cleared calibration message.
- Click the Capture Image
button.NOTE: The image may take up to 2 minutes to display.
- Review the images and make sure all the cameras are able to capture an image correctly.
- Disconnect Toolbox 3 and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
