Rear Door Hinge - Secondary - Front - LH (Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH upper rear door glass assembly. See DOOR GLASS ASSEMBLY - REAR - UPPER - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  3. Support the LH falcon wing door.
    CAUTION: Place protection between the stand and door.

  4. Disconnect the LH falcon wing door front and rear strut electrical connectors (x4).

  5. Remove the C-clip covers (x2) from the LH falcon wing door front and rear primary struts.
    NOTE: The clips are located on the bottom portion of each strut.

  6. Release the LH falcon wing door front and rear primary struts from the door assembly.
    NOTE: Release the C-clip while pulling the strut away from the ball joint.
    NOTE: Do not fully remove the C-clip from the strut.

  7. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH falcon wing door primary strut harnesses to the door assembly.

  8. Release the LH falcon wing door front and rear primary struts from the body, and then remove the struts from the door assembly.
    NOTE: Release the C-clip while pulling the strut away from the ball joint.
    NOTE: Do not fully remove the C-clip from the strut.

  9. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH falcon wing door secondary strut harnesses to the door assembly.

  10. Release the LH falcon wing door front and rear secondary struts from the door assembly.
    NOTE: Release the C-clip while pulling the strut away from the ball joint.
    NOTE: Do not fully remove the C-clip from the strut.

  11. Release the LH falcon wing door front and rear secondary struts from the body.
    NOTE: Release the C-clip while pulling the strut away from the ball joint.
    NOTE: Do not fully remove the C-clip from the strut.

  12. With assistance, remove the support stand, and then close the LH falcon door.
    WARNING: The LH falcon door will retract after the stand is removed.
  13. Mark the position of the lower falcon door to the upper falcon door assembly.

  14. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front secondary rear door hinge to the lower door assembly.

    24 N.m (17.7 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 13 mm socket

  15. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front secondary rear door hinge to the upper door assembly, and then remove the hinge from the vehicle.

    32 N.m (23.6 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • External Torx E18
