Side Repeater Camera - Front - LH (HW4) Remove and Replace: Install

  1. Position the LH front side repeater camera on the repeater assembly, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the camera on the repeater assembly.

  2. Connect the LH front side repeater connectors (x2).
    NOTE: Secure the side repeater connectors, and then engage the red locking tab on the side repeater connector.

  3. Reset the Driver Assistance System (DAS).
    1. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock) .
    2. On the touchscreen Service Mode menu, touch Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS. 
    3. On the touchscreen Cameras diagram, confirm that the Reset DAS  button is highlighted green and that all DAS components display a green status light.
      NOTE: Investigate and rectify any DAS components that display a red status light.

  4. HW4 cameras only:  Run the camera connection test to update the new camera's firmware.
    NOTE: DAS Cameras are not CAN modules and cannot be updated via firmware reinstall or "Part Replacement Deploy".
    1. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect) .
    2. Click on the Actions  tab, search for "calibration mode", and then Run  the DAS Enter Calibration Mode  routine.
    3. Click on the Actions  tab, search for "camera connection test", and then Run  the routine that corresponds with the camera that was replaced (e.g., Left B-Pillar Camera Connection Test  or Front Camera Connection Test  ).
      NOTE: The forward facing bi-camera assembly consists of two individual cameras that must be updated separately: Front Camera Connection Test  and Fisheye Camera Connection Test  . Make sure to update firmware on the cameras that were replaced.
      NOTE: If 2 versions of the same routine are displayed, Run  the routine that contains "-SCRIPT" in the "Path" field.
    4. In the Camera Connection Test prompt, change the "Timeout" to "100", and then Run  the routine.
      NOTE: This routine will update the camera's firmware and then confirm that the camera is connected.

  5. Install the push clip that attaches the LH front side repeater to the LH front fender assembly.
    NOTE: Ensure the repeater tabs (x2) are intact and installed in place correctly.

  6. Remove the masking tape from the LH front fender assembly at the edges of the LH front side repeater.

  7. Push the rear portion of the LH front wheel arch liner back to original position.
    NOTE: Ensure the liner aligns with the fender correctly.

  8. Install the clips (x3) that attach the rear portion of the LH front fender garnish to the LH rocker panel molding.
    NOTE: Carefully secure the garnish and fully engage the clips.

  9. Press the brake pedal to turn on the drive rails.
  10. Turn the steering wheel to the center.
  11. Use the center display to set the air suspension ride height to "Medium".

  12. Disable service mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable) .
  13. Raise the LH front window.
  14. Close the LH front door.
