Latch - Hood (Single Actuator) - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) .
  7. Disconnect the double pull single actuator hood latch wiring harness electrical connector.
    NOTE: Pull the red tab to release the connector lock, then pull the red tab again to release the connector.

  8. Compress the tabs (x2) to release the hood latch actuator and cable from the hood latch assembly.

  9. Remove the bolts that attach the double pull single actuator hood latch to the front end carrier assembly, and then remove the latch from the vehicle.

    Torque 10 N.m 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 2 in extension
