Actuator - Latch - Hood (Single Actuator System) - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  3. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Remove underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Release the clips that attach the FEM harness to the front end carrier assembly.

  7. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the hood latch actuator and cable assembly electrical connector.

  8. Compress the tabs (x2) to release the hood latch actuator and cable from the hood latch assembly.

  9. Release the clip that attaches the hood latch actuator and cable assembly to the vehicle.

  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the hood latch actuator and cable assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.

    5 N.m (3.7 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
