Trim - Seat Back -- 2nd Row -- RH - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  2. Open the RH rear door.
  3. Move the front passenger seat fully forward.
  4. Remove the RH 2nd row seat outer bolster. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove And Replace) .
  5. Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the down position.
    NOTE: If the seat cushion is not present, protect the seat as required.
  6. Disconnect the RH 2nd row seat back harness electrical connector.

  7. Release the clip that attaches the RH 2nd row seat back harness to the pivot bracket.

  8. Remove the RH 2nd row seat back panel. See Back Panel - 2nd Row Seat - RH (Remove And Replace) .
  9. Remove the RH 2nd row headrest. See Headrest - 2nd Row - LH (Remove And Replace) .
  10. Remove the LH and RH 2nd row backrest guide locks. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 2nd Row (Remove And Replace) .
  11. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the RH 2nd row backrest cushion to the back frame.

    8 N.m (5.9 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm deep socket

  12. Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the vertical position, but do not latch the seat back

  13. Release the clips (x8), disconnect the backrest harness electrical connector, and then remove the RH 2nd row backrest cushion from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Release the upper clips first to disconnect backrest the connector.

  14. Disconnect the RH 2nd row seat back substrate harness electrical connectors (x2).

  15. Release the hooks that attach the bottom portion of the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.
    NOTE: Negotiate the trim under the harness.

  16. Release the clips (x2) that attach the RH 2nd row backrest cushion heat pad harness to the seat back insert.

  17. Release the clips (x5) that attach the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.
    NOTE: Negotiate the clips around the substrate harness.

  18. Release the hooks (x6) and clips (x2) that attach the top portion of RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.

  19. Pull the top portion of RH 2nd row seat back trim down and off the RH 2nd row seat back insert.

  20. Remove the RH 2nd row seat back insert from the cushion assembly.
    NOTE: Negotiate the heat pad harness under the substrate harness.

  21. Release the velcro that attaches the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back foam until the hog rings are visible.

  22. Use diagonal cutters to cut the hog rings (x3) that attach the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back foam.
    NOTE: Push down on the foam to allow access to rings.
    NOTE: Remove any excess hog ring pieces

  23. Remove the RH 2nd row seat back trim from the seat back foam.
