Remove And Replace

  1. Open all four doors
    NOTE: If vehicle is being powered down, Latch rear doors to prevent accidental closure
  2. Lower all four windows
  3. Move LH front seat forward
  4. Move RH front seat forward
  5. Remove 2nd row seat cushion and disconnect harness
    NOTE: 2x tabs, 2x connectors. Press tab toward LH side of vehicle on each side to release front edge of seat cushion

  6. Open hood
    NOTE: Press "Open" button on the touchscreen to release the latch, Lift the lid manually
  7. Remove rear apron
    NOTE: 12x clips, Only store rear apron visible face upwards

  8. Remove LH IP end cap
    NOTE: 3x clips

  9. Remove LH mid A-pillar assembly
    NOTE: 1x clip, 1x tab. Release the upper clip then pull mid A-pillar upward to remove

  10. Remove clip for LH lower A-pillar trim

  11. Remove LH lower A-pillar trim
    NOTE: x clip, 2 guide tabs. Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release front tabs from carpet

  12. Release seat belt retractor from LH front seat
    NOTE: Adjust seat if needed, Insert special removal tool into the bottom of the retractor to release

  13. Remove LH front seat rear fasteners
    NOTE: 2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 N.m. Discard after removal

  14. Move LH front seat backward
  15. Remove LH front seat front fasteners
    NOTE: 2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 N.m. Discard after removal

  16. Power off vehicle from center display
    NOTE: Via Controls > Safety & Security > Vehicle Power > Power Off, Confirm power off at warning dialogue box
  17. Disconnect 12 V negative terminal
    NOTE: 1x nut, 10 mm, 6 N.m. Ensure the vehicle is in park, climate control system is off, and vehicle is not charging before disconnecting 12 V

  18. Remove 12 V cap from penthouse
    NOTE: 1x cap

  19. Disconnect HVC logic connector and install logic cap
    NOTE: 1x connector, 1x cap. Release locking tab then push the handle downward to release connector

  20. Disconnect LH front seat harness from left body controller
    NOTE: 1x connector. Release white lock, Slide lock upward

  22. Remove LH front seat from vehicle
    NOTE: Recommend assistance. With assistant supporting seat back from 2nd row seat. Remove seat from front LH door opening. Caution not to damage any trim. Protect the seat upholstery when the seat is outside of the vehicle

  23. Install the outboard headrest release tool
    NOTE: Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip. Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring. The release tool is rotated into position. Illustrations show headrest removed for clarity.

  24. Install the inboard headrest release tool
    NOTE: Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip. Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring. The release tool is rotated into position. Illustrations show headrest removed for clarity.

  25. Remove the headrest from seat
    NOTE: 2x locking clips. Remove by pulling straight up, out of the seat

  26. Remove the inboard headrest release tool
    NOTE: Rotate the release tool out of position, Do not pull straight up or out

  28. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat
    NOTE: Protect seat cushion from damage

  29. Unhook the straps for the lower section of the seat back and move the seat back flap away from the underside of the seat
    NOTE: 2x clips

  30. Disconnect the seat back heater connector
    NOTE: 1x connector. Green

  31. Remove the seat back harness connector from the seat bottom
    NOTE: Slide the connector straight down to release it from the seat assembly

  33. Remove seat back from LH front seat
    NOTE: 6x clips. Start at the top of the seat and pull the shell away from the frame. When the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots. If pulled straight out the clips on the seat back can break off.

  34. Remove the upper flap covering the LH corner of the seat back frame

  45. Remove nuts securing 1st row side air bag to seat back frame

  49. Remove the upholstery trim
    NOTE: Start by pulling the bottom of the seat trim away from the seat frame, ensure the heater harness and the trim is clear of the frame, Lift straight up on the sides of the trim, moving the trim from side to side, to free it from the frame

  50. Pull LH side air bag chute away from seat back foam assembly
    NOTE: Avoid overhandling air bag

  51. Remove the LH air bag from seat back assembly
    NOTE: 2x studs. Clear air bag studs from air bag pouch and slide air bag assembly out. Avoid overhandling air bag. If air bag is dropped or damaged, replace air bag.

  52. Pull the RH FSAB chute away from seat back foam assembly
    NOTE: Avoid overhandling air bag

  53. Remove the RH FSAB from seat back assembly
    NOTE: 2x studs. Clear air bag studs from air bag pouch and slide air bag assembly out. Avoid overhandling air bag. If air bag is dropped or damaged, replace air bag.

  54. Release seat back trim from foam assembly containing FSAB
    NOTE: 1x Velcro strip. Be cautious when releasing Velcro to avoid damage.

  55. Release hog rings securing remaining trim to foam and remove seat back trim containing FSAB

    NOTE: Start by sliding the foam trim straight onto the seat back frame, ensure the posts for the headrests engage the seat back foam, Ensure the heater harness and lower trim that engages the frame are pushed through to the back side of the frame

  63. Position LH front side air bag studs into seat frame and install nuts securing side airbag to seat back frame

    NOTE: 8x clips, Install the lower clips first and rotate the shell up into place, Light pressure may need to be applied to the shell to ensure it's fully seated, The headrest posts will engage the seat back when installed

  75. Install the headrest into seat
    NOTE: 2x locking clips, Ensure the headrest is fully seated, An audible click will be heard when installing the headrest, Ensure the headrest is seated by tugging up on the headrest

  76. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat

    NOTE: 1x clip, 2 guide tabs. Align the 2 front tabs then align the slot with harness bracket and then push rear clip to secure to lower B-pillar. Fully seat seal along trim

  94. Install clip for LH lower A-pillar trim
    NOTE: 1x push clip

    NOTE: 1x clip, 1x tab. Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A-pillar. Pull seal over trim

  97. Connect 2nd row seat cushion harness and install 2nd row seat cushion
    NOTE: 2x connectors, 2x clips. Insert the seat belt buckles through the holes. Slide rear cushion inward then align front guide tabs to locking tabs. Make sure cushion is fully seated with push & pull test near clips

  98. Move LH front seat to original position
  99. Move RH front seat to original position
  100. Raise all windows
  101. Close all four doors
    NOTE: Unlatch rear doors before closing
