Seal - Primary - Rear Door - LH - Adjust: Inspect

  1. Remove any obstructions and open the rear LH door, and allow it to raise to the highest position.
  2. From the rear of the vehicle, sight along the top of the primary door seal and the applique seal, at the vehicle spine.
    NOTE: Shift your viewpoint so as to visually overlap both door hinge arches into one.

  3. Compare the gap between the primary seal and the spine applique seal.
    • If the gap is clearly evident, adjustment is not necessary. Discontinue this procedure.
    • If the gap is indeterminate or non-existent, check the primary seal position.

  4. Insert the zero-end of a metal ruler under the spine applique seal, butt it against the body at the spine, and set the ruler resting on the primary seal.

  5. Measure the primary seal position along the spine. The flat outer edge of the seal should be approximately 42mm from the body along the length of the spine. If the edge is less than 42 mm from the body, adjust the seal. See ADJUST .
