Cable - Latch - Hood - Secondary - Remove And Replace: Removal
- Remove the front underhood storage unit Underhood Storage Unit (Remove And Replace) .
- Release the secondary hood latch cable end from the latch.
- Use a trim tool to remove the tow hook cover.NOTE: Insert the trim tool into the notch at the top right portion of the tow hook cover.
- Release the straps from the tow hook cover and move them through the tow hook opening.
- Remove the bolts (x3) that secure the actuator assembly bracket to the front end module (torque 10 N.m).
- Lift the actuator assembly bracket into a working position.
- Separate the manual release strap from the secondary actuator assembly bracket retainer.
- Slide the black cap from the secondary actuator onto the secondary cable.
- Release the clip that secures the actuator clevis to the secondary actuator, and then slide the clevis off of the actuator.
- Rotate the actuator clevis 90 degrees, and then slide the clevis off of the cable end.
- Move the secondary cable through the slit in the side of the black cap, and remove the cap from the vehicle.
- Remove the screw that secures the secondary cable to the actuator assembly bracket.
- Release the secondary cable from the actuator assembly bracket, and then pass the end of the cable through the manual release lever.
- Release the clip that secures the secondary cable to the latch bracket and remove the cable from the bracket.
- Release the post clip that secures the secondary cable to the electrical harness, and then remove the cable from the vehicle.
