Rear Door Hinge - Primary - Front - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Open the RH rear door to allow vehicle ingress during the remaining steps.
  2. Remove both LH rear door springs REAR DOOR SPRING - FRONT - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  3. Close the rear LH door; make sure that it latches securely.
  4. Release the fir tree clip that secures the door harness to the upper door. Move the harness away from the primary hinge.

  5. Mark the location of the front primary hinge on the body and on the upper door.
    NOTE: This helps to install the new primary hinge into the same place.
  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the hinge to the upper door (torque 24 N.m).

  7. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the hinge to the body (torque 38 N.m).

  8. Remove the hinge from the body.
    NOTE: The door might move during removal.
