IP Carrier - Remove And Replace: Remove
- Fully open both front doors.
- Move both front seats to their rearmost positions.
- Adjust the steering column:
- Lower the steering column to its lowest position.
- Fully extend the steering column.
- Remove the defrost mesh grille assembly ASSEMBLY - MESH GRILLE - DEFROST (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
- Remove the MCU Media Control Unit (Remove And Install) .
- Remove the screws (x2) that secure the driver's knee bolster (torque 2.3 N.m). Remove the bolster from the vehicle.
- Remove the driver's knee air bag Knee Air Bag - Driver's (Remove And Replace) .
- Prepare a rigid support that is approximately 16 in (400 mm) tall, which will be used to support the steering column in the next step.
- Working from the driver's footwell, remove the bolts that secure the steering column to the IP carrier bracket (torque 26 N.m), then lower the steering column onto the support.CAUTION: The steering column must be supported to prevent damage to the electrical harness.
- Remove the screws that secure the IP carrier to the dash frame (torque 2 N.m).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the dash tweeter.
- Lift the IP carrier up, then release the clip that holds the dash tweeter electrical harness to the IP carrier.
- Remove the IP carrier from the dash frame.
