Shock Tower Brace - LH - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Make sure that the wipers are in the off position by rotating the end of the left-hand steering column lever towards the rear of the vehicle.
  2. Open the hood to the service position.
  3. Remove both wiper arms Wiper Arm - LH (Remove And Replace) .
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH shock tower brace to the shock tower (torque 20 N.m).
  5. Remove the clip that attaches the cowl screen to the LH shock tower brace (torque 20 N.m).

    NOTE: RHD vehicles have an additional bolt that attaches the coolant reservoir to the underside of the shock tower brace (torque 5 N.m). Remove the bolt before proceeding.

  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the air suspension reservoir to the LH shock tower brace (red arrows) (torque 6 N.m).
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the wiper motor assembly to the LH shock tower brace (yellow arrow) (torque 6 N.m).
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH shock tower brace to the bulkhead (green arrow) (torque 30 N.m).
    CAUTION: Remove the clip carefully.

  9. Release the clip that attaches the wiring harness to the LH strut.
  10. Remove the LH shock tower brace.
