Frame - Seat Cushion - Driver Seat - Remove and Replace: Remove
- Remove the driver seat from the vehicle. See SEAT ASSEMBLY - 1ST ROW (LH) - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
- Remove the driver seat headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
- Remove the driver seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace) .
- Remove the driver seat inboard side shield. See Side Shield - Inboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace) .
- Remove the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
- Unhook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
- Unhook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
Tip: Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab
- Remove the outer clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame.NOTE: 2x clips, To release, rotate the clips off of the frame from the inside out
- Pull LH front seat upholstery away from the air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.NOTE: Pull the orange tabs down to release the connector.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the recliner motor connector.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar valve pack and ECU.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar pump connector.
- Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.
- Position the seat to gain access to the underside.
- Disconnect the driver seat seat back heater electrical connector.
- Release driver seat seat back harness connector from the seat bottom.
- Position the seat assembly upright.
- Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH side of the driver seat seat back frame to the seat cushion frame.
43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)
- Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the buckle to the seat track, and then remove the buckle.
40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
- Release the seat belt buckle harness clip from the seat frame.
- Disconnect the seat belt buckle electrical connector, and then set the seat belt buckle aside.
- Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the RH side of the driver seat seat back frame to the seat cushion frame.
43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T50 socket
- Rotate the seat back frame away from the cushion frame, and then lift the back seat frame upwards to remove it from the cushion frame.
- Turn the seat bottom over for access.CAUTION: Protect the seat cushion from damage.
- Disconnect the heat pad electrical connector.
- Release the clip that attaches the heat pad connector to the seat bottom.NOTE: Slide connector forward to release from seat bottom
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat occupied sensor connector.
- Release the clip that attaches the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then separate the sensor from the seat underside.
- Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.
- Remove the front retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the front of the seat trim to the frame.NOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.
- Remove the inboard retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the side of the seat trim to the frameNOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.
- Remove the outboard retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the side of the seat trim to the frame.NOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.
- Remove the cushion pad assembly from the seat frame assembly.NOTE: Lift the cushion straight off, Ensure the heating pad and seat occupied sensor harnesses are clear of the seat
- Disconnect seat track position sensor.NOTE: 1x connector.
- If equipped, remove the screw that attaches the seat track position sensor to the seat track assembly, and then remove the sensor from the seat track assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T20 socket
- Disconnect the lift motor connector
- Disconnect the tilt motor connector
- Remove the harness clip from the seat track motorNOTE: 1x clip
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat track motor connector.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the pretensioner connector.
- Fully loosen the bolt that attaches the pre-tensioner to the seat track, and then remove the pre-tensioner and bolt as a single assembly from the seat track.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T50 socket
- 3/8 in std ratchet
- 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
- 3 in extension
- Release the clips (x3) that attach the electrical harness along the seat cushion frame.NOTE: Older harnesses are clipped directly to the seat frame, while newer harnesses are attached to a harness guide that is clipped to the seat rail. See images.

- Remove clips securing the driver seat harness on the under side of the seat frameNOTE: 4x clips
- Remove clips securing the driver seat harness on the inboard side of the seat frameNOTE: 3x clips
- Remove harness from seat frame
