Frame - Seat Cushion - Driver Seat - Remove and Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat from the vehicle. See SEAT ASSEMBLY - 1ST ROW (LH) - REMOVE AND REPLACE .
  2. Remove the driver seat headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  3. Remove the driver seat outboard side shield. See Side Shield - Outboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Remove the driver seat inboard side shield. See Side Shield - Inboard - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Remove the driver seat back shell. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace) .
  6. Unhook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.

  7. Unhook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.

    Tip: Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab

  8. Remove the outer clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame.
    NOTE: 2x clips, To release, rotate the clips off of the frame from the inside out

  9. Pull LH front seat upholstery away from the air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector.
    NOTE: Pull the orange tabs down to release the connector.

  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the recliner motor connector.

  11. Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar valve pack and ECU.

  12. Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar pump connector.

  13. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.

  14. Position the seat to gain access to the underside.
  15. Disconnect the driver seat seat back heater electrical connector.

  16. Release driver seat seat back harness connector from the seat bottom.

  17. Position the seat assembly upright.
  18. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH side of the driver seat seat back frame to the seat cushion frame.

    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

  19. Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the buckle to the seat track, and then remove the buckle.

    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)

  20. Release the seat belt buckle harness clip from the seat frame.

  21. Disconnect the seat belt buckle electrical connector, and then set the seat belt buckle aside.

  22. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the RH side of the driver seat seat back frame to the seat cushion frame.

    43 Nm (31.7 lbs-ft)

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • T50 socket

  23. Rotate the seat back frame away from the cushion frame, and then lift the back seat frame upwards to remove it from the cushion frame.

  24. Turn the seat bottom over for access.
    CAUTION: Protect the seat cushion from damage.
  25. Disconnect the heat pad electrical connector.

  26. Release the clip that attaches the heat pad connector to the seat bottom.
    NOTE: Slide connector forward to release from seat bottom

  27. Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat occupied sensor connector.

  28. Release the clip that attaches the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then separate the sensor from the seat underside.

  29. Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.

  30. Remove the front retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the front of the seat trim to the frame.
    NOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.

  31. Remove the inboard retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the side of the seat trim to the frame
    NOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.

  32. Remove the outboard retaining clip from the seat cushion frame securing the side of the seat trim to the frame.
    NOTE: 1x clip strip. May need to start with a hook tool. Pull the clip away from the frame to release.

  33. Remove the cushion pad assembly from the seat frame assembly.
    NOTE: Lift the cushion straight off, Ensure the heating pad and seat occupied sensor harnesses are clear of the seat

  34. Disconnect seat track position sensor.
    NOTE: 1x connector.

  35. If equipped, remove the screw that attaches the seat track position sensor to the seat track assembly, and then remove the sensor from the seat track assembly.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • T20 socket

  36. Disconnect the lift motor connector
    NOTE: 1x connector

  37. Disconnect the tilt motor connector

  39. Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat track motor connector.

  40. Disconnect the electrical harness from the pretensioner connector.

  41. Fully loosen the bolt that attaches the pre-tensioner to the seat track, and then remove the pre-tensioner and bolt as a single assembly from the seat track.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T50 socket
    • 3/8 in std ratchet
    • 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
    • 3 in extension

  42. Release the clips (x3) that attach the electrical harness along the seat cushion frame.
    NOTE: Older harnesses are clipped directly to the seat frame, while newer harnesses are attached to a harness guide that is clipped to the seat rail. See images.

  43. Remove clips securing the driver seat harness on the under side of the seat frame
