1st Generation RWD vehicles - Primary Latch: Removal

  1. Remove the hood latch cover Assembly - Hood Latch Cover (Remove And Replace) .
  2. Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the latch assembly to the crossmember (torque 16 N.m).
  3. Release the latch assembly from the studs, then lower and disconnect the harness connector.
  4. Disconnect the hood release cable from the latch.

  5. Remove the primary latch assembly from the vehicle.
