Cable - Latch - Hood (RWD) - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Remove the hood latch cover Assembly - Hood Latch Cover (Remove And Replace) .
  2. Release the hood release cable hook from the latch assembly.

  3. Peel back the edge of the front trunk carpet for access.

  4. Depress the clips and disconnect the hood release cable from the slam panel bracket.
  5. Release the clips (x2) that secure the cable to the body.

  6. Remove and discard the clips from the cable.
  7. Tie a suitable tether to disconnected the end of the hood release cable and tape it for security.
  8. Open the passenger door.
  9. Disconnect the lever from the dash.

  10. With assistance, gently pull the cable through the bulkhead grommet into the passenger footwell.
    CAUTION: Take care not to damage component(s).

  11. Ensure that the tether remains in the front trunk.
  12. Disconnect the cable from the lever.
